Raccoon Rampage, Andrew Cope; Illustrated by Nadia Shireen

I must admit neither of my girls loved the Awesome animals series but we had a few including Panda Panic. The the interests of reading a wide variety I picked up Raccoon Rampage in a charity shop and thought I’d give it a go.

IMG_2123This book is ludicrous so I can see why it would appeal to some children. Badly behaved Racoons lark about pinching food and then escaping the clutches of frankly understandably irritated humans. They have cunning plans that mostly fail and occasionally work. As you might expect they have a series of scrapes and ultimately a slight turn around in their attitude.

It’s daft, funny and too violent for me throughout but maybe if it gets kids reading it doesn’t matter. It’s a bit like a novel comic that will definitely appeal to some.
