This was a carefully selected gift from my mum and dad for my eldest and was described by the bookseller as the next big thing that everyone is talking about. I can’t wait to read it.

This is a gripping steampunk story set in Victorian times. You follow the adventures of Lily Hartman (disguised as Lily Grantham) on her journey to find her true identity. Along with her friend Robert Townsend and Malkin the mechanical fox, she encounters air pirates and hybrids along her way. They learn they can’t trust everyone.

I love the fact that it is set in an alternative reality where lots of things are possible. There are interesting characters like mechanical people and a really good plot. Some of it is a bit sad but I didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait for Moon Locket to come out.
